I shared my first flash memoir (or micro memoir if you enjoy the alliteration as I do) on Monday. It was honestly scary! I was worried no one who read it, or tons of people would unsub! (A few did, which is fine. I also haven’t sent out newsletters regularly in a while, and people may just no longer be interested in hearing from me. It’s cool!) After, I remembered this post I wrote years ago and like, thanks for the pep talk, Julia from 2020.
Truly all I want is for the people who resonate with my work to find it.
I finally got both of my big kids back to school this week (they’re at different schools now and have completely different calendars, so that’s fun!). It’s been nice to settle back into our routine, even if I still have some logistics to fine-tune!
shared a genius post last week about what she called ‘Calibration Week.’ I believe she is also an Enneagram 4 and a Cancer moon which might be why I read the whole thing nodding my head. “Yes! Throw everything at the wall!” Some things I thought I would be doing this year have already fallen off my list for various reasons. It’s okay, it’s just not the right time. One week into the new year, I realized I was not leaving nearly enough time for play. Like, it’s great that I’m super focused on a few (arguably important) things right now, but I also need to have room in my schedule to just hang out and watch Father of the Bride Part II if I want. So I’m grateful some things have fallen off my plate, even if not always entirely by my choice.
Weekly Actions
I was inspired to share my weekly to-do list by Tracy Shutterbean, who has been posting hers for a while. This year I’m thinking a lot about how we make the time to do the things we need/ want to do, while still allowing buffer to show up for our people.
